Man Utd said Marcus Rashford has returned to training after the striker accepted responsibility for partying.
Last Wednesday, Marcus Rashford was seen entering a nightclub in Belfast (Northern Ireland). Here, the British striker is said to constantly drink alcohol and smoke vape (electronic cigarettes). After that, Rashford got sick and couldn’t play in last Sunday’s 4-2 win over Newport County.
However, according to a waiter at the nightclub, Marcus Rashford could not play because he was drunk instead of sick as reported to M.U.
For his part, coach Erik ten Hag refused to talk deeply about this issue. “He said he was sick. That’s all I can reveal. This is an internal matter and I will handle this later,” the Dutch strategist shared after the match with Newport.
Last night, M.U announced that it had resolved Rashford’s case, and confirmed that the 26-year-old striker had returned to training and would appear in the match against Wolves on Thursday.
“Marcus Rashford has accepted responsibility for his actions. This incident has been resolved as an internal disciplinary matter and is now over,” the Red Devils announced.
According to British media, Rashford may be fined 2 weeks’ salary by M.U, thought to be 650,000 pounds. Notably, this is not the first time Rashford has gone “jumping” at a sensitive time. Previously, in October last year, he celebrated his birthday at a nightclub right after M.U’s 3-0 defeat to Man City. The party only ended at 3:30 p.m.
In contrast to last season, Marcus Rashford has shown disappointing performance this season, scoring only 4 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions. In addition, he is often criticized for his superficial playing attitude.
